Considerations

Activities recognised by the Awards include:

  • Promoting human rights and peace through education, sports or other practical activities and/or advocacy
  • Promoting equal opportunity and non-discriminatory attitudes and practices
  • Increasing community understanding of human rights for the promotion of greater respect, diversity, inclusion and harmony
  • Challenging human rights barriers and/or breaches

The following will be taken into consideration:

  • The impact of the work/activity on increased knowledge, understanding and respect for human rights, including equal opportunity and non-discriminatory attitudes and practices.
  • The contribution made by the work/activity on the removal of barriers and to the challenging of human rights breaches.
  • Initiative and innovation in the practices employed.
  • The amount of time, effort and resources that have been devoted to the activities/work.
